First Week

This was the first week that I have been in Australia with YWAM Perth and it has been amazing so far. This week we learned how to Hear God's Voice and if I were to make a summary it would look like this

1. You need to focus on God and not all the things happening around you.

2. You need to surrender to God.

3. You need to spend time with God. You can't expect to hear God's voice if you don't spend time with God

Hearing God's voice can also look very different to lots of different people. Some people will occaisonally hear his voice audibly, some people will see visions, some hear his voice in convictions that they have. The one that I have fealt the most is a random thought that will pop into my head that doesn't sound like me at all. This happened during worship when Isaiah 43 popped into my head after I prayed that God would speak to me if needed.

Isaiah 43 is an amazing chapter of the bible but at this time I had never read Isaiah 43 that I could remember. So I pulled out my phone to read the chapter a little, and at the time I was wondering if this was from God or just my thoughts. But then a few minutes later, a friend of mine whom I had not talked to yet that day, read Isaiah 43 into the mic and then I knew it was from God.

I would reccomend you spend some time in Isaiah 43 as it is a great chapter I have found out as I have been doing my devotionals and my favorite few verses from the chapter are

“Do not fear, for I am with you;

I will bring your seed from the east,

And gather you from the west.

“I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’

And to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’

Bring My sons from afar

And My daughters from the ends of the earth,

Everyone who is called by My name,

And whom I have created for My glory,

Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.”

These verses reminded me that no matter how far I go, and no matter how hard it gets, God has my back and I don't need to worry.
